Notley Abbey: Annie + Jack

I. Loved. This. Wedding! I knew I was going to love it from when I first met this lovely pair of people. We shot their pre-wedding pics in Greenwich Park in London a few months before the wedding and I had a blast with them then, so I knew their wedding was going to be a belter (scroll to the bottom for some engagement shoot pics!)

My day started with a little drive out of sunny Essex, out to Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, where I headed to The Dinton Hermit where Annie and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the big day. Meanwhile, up the road, Jack and the boys were getting suited and booted…and maybe finding time for a quick pint at the pub before the ceremony.

We were soon on our way to the church, where we found the boys waiting for us and a slightly nervous groom waiting at the top of the aisle.

It wasn’t long before we had two newlyweds with big ol’ smiles across their faces walking back up the aisle and out of the church into the waiting confetti line, where they got absooollllluttteeelly covered! If you’re having confetti, go big! If you think you need 20 handfuls, buy 40. No one has ever complained about having too much confetti! And go colourful too! It makes such a difference in your pics to have big, colourful pieces of confetti.

Soon, we were on the road again and making our way to the lovely Notley Abbey. The brief as always was to document the wedding day, with lots of candid and natural wedding photos. And we kept this theme of natural pics going when it came to the couple shots as well. So, no crazy poses! Just simple, natural pics of this lovely pair. I love this style of photography, it shows the couple as they truly are and not a fake version of them.

I don’t know what it is, but I’m a big big fan of long tables at weddings! I’ve got no idea why, but the whole aesthetic of it is great. It gets a big thumbs up from me! In fact, all of their decor was amazing! Their guest book was a record sleeve (I’m a big record collector, so this was amazing!), with one of their pre wedding pics on the cover. So I’ve finally got a photo of mine on the cover of an album!

After a few group shots, and some more time with guests, we gathered everyone around and jumped into the speeches. I love outdoor speeches, there’s more room to move about to get lots more reaction shots of your guests.

Next up was dinner, before all of the guests came back out into the evening sun to chill for a little while before the first dance. We grabbed a couple of quick golden hour pics before the newlyweds opened up the dance floor for the evening. Then that was it, these guys and their guests were smashing up the dance floor all night! We popped outside for one or two quick snaps, and then it was straight back to the dance floor.

I honestly loved this one. The best part of this job is the lovely people I get to work with, and these two were up there as two of the best! Big thanks for having me guys, and big congrats!

Before the big day, I met up with Annie and Jack in London for a pre wedding shoot. I love these shoots, they get you guys used to how I work and I get to know how you guys are together too. If you’re anxious about having your photo taken, then they’re definitely worth considering. It’ll set your mind at ease about what to expect on the big day…plus you’ll get a bunch of pics to enjoy too!

Anyway, here’s a snippet of what we got up to…
