I love an elopement. It’s such a special thing to be invited to such an important and intimate thing. The biggest day of their lives, with just these two…and there’s little old me documenting everything as it happens. 

This blog will feature a handful of city elopements that I’ve photographed over the years. Most of these will be at town halls in London. Some with just the couple, some with a couple of friends and family present. 

I love these weddings because they almost always go against the norm, they’re always slightly untraditional. Whether it’s because the couple got ready and arrived together, whether it’s because it’s just more casual, or maybe it’s simply because they’re not going for the full blown wedding. But the key thing is they’ve decided to do it this way because the thing that’s most important is that they get married, they don’t care about the circus and the show that often surrounds bigger weddings. And who needs a big fancy venue when you’ve got cities like London for your photos afterwards?!
