This was a bucket list venue for me. I flippin’ love Kew Gardens. It’s such a special place, and I’d always wanted to shoot there. It blows my mind that this gem is in London, surrounded by the city and miles of concrete.
The day started over at Richmond Hill Hotel, where Lauren and her gang were getting ready. And just down the corridor, tucked away in another room, was Alex, getting suited up and ready to head off to the church.
We were soon in cabs, fighting against the rain to get to the church just up the road in Richmond. The ceremony was amazing, with the choir that Lauren and Alex used to sing in performing for everyone. We soon had two newlyweds coming back up the aisle and heading outside to get absolutely covered in confetti.
After jumping on a bus, me and all the guests made our way to Kew Gardens where everyone mingled and chatted, and I snapped away in the background. After a little while, we nabbed a few group shots before jumping on a buggy and being driven around the grounds to grab a few shots, including inside the amazing Palm House. We managed to battle through the humdity and the steamed up lenses and we grabbed some of my favourite shots of the day in here.
We made our way back to the guests and headed inside for dinner and speeches. After this it was straight into a super informal first dance, which is such a great way to open up the dance floor (much better than an awkward shuffle whilst you’re being watched by everyone!)
After a couple of late evening pics as the sun was starting to die down over London, these guys headed back to the dance floor to join their guests. And late into the night, they were still busting moves, cutting shapes, and looking like they were having the time of their lives!
I loved this one, and they’re two of the loveliest people as well, big thanks for having me guys.
